Coral Eyewear Announces Collaboration with Formula E driver
Fully-sustainable and circular eyewear brand Coral Eyewear has teamed up with professional racing driver Alexander Sims, who competes in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, to design a limited-edition pair of sunglasses
Marrying sustainable fashion with electric mobility, the Alexander Sims sunglasses feature a distinctive polarised red lens that nods to Sims’ Mahindra Racing livery, the team with whom he competes in electric racing series the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
The red lenses are co-ordinated with bold black frames in Coral Eyewear’s best-selling Albacore style and manufactured in the brand’s signature material, ECONYL.
"Coral Eyewear has changed my thinking about glasses and sunglasses."
Speaking ahead of the launch Alexander Sims said:
“Coral Eyewear has changed my thinking about glasses and sunglasses. Together we aim to raise more awareness of the difference that can be made by choosing sustainable and circular products such as these. Not only have I switched my sunglasses, but I am also wearing Coral Eyewear’s frames on a daily basis and while behind the-wheel in Formula E.
George Bailey, Coral Eyewear Co-Founder, added:
“We’re so excited to be working with Alexander, who has a proven track-record when it comes to both sustainability and high-performance environments. His work highlighting sustainable initiatives through charities Zero Carbon World and Heart of England Forest goes way beyond what is expected of him as a Formula E driver and his passion for the environment is clear for everyone to see."
Each pair of these limited edition frames comes with its own limited edition box, a cleaning cloth, case and Alexander Sims autograph card. The Alexander Sims Limited Edition is the first frame to be released from our Spring 2021 collection.
